Where are they now?
(Rising Stars Of American Broadcast
Talent)
Liz Elan came to
American Broadcast Talent in November of 2005. A graduate
of Arizona State University. Liz is now a Reporter for
KGTV-TV, the ABC station in beautiful San Diego, California.
We wish Liz the best and know she will continue to move up
quickly in the industry.
Raphael Miranda
came to us in January of 2007 to put together a great resume
tape. This talented young Meteorologist is now working in
the largest market in the country. Raphael is a Weatherman
for WNBC-TV in New York City. Raphael is a talented
on-air personality.
What
we provide to individuals is very unique. We assist broadcast talent in constructing a resume tape.We will help you from start to finish to complete a professional
tape that can obtain you a position with a broadcast television station.
You will go out with us and cover real news stories, weather events,
entertainment, and sports all for your resume tape. There is a
reason we have become the number one resume tape service for those
seeking employment in television. That reason is due to the fact
that people that seek out our assistance get on-air jobs in the
business.
We
assist both inexperienced and experienced broadcasters. Most clients
that attend have some previous formal education or some introduction to
the broadcasting industry. When you attend, you will write much of
your own material for your resume tape. This includes stand-ups,
packages, anchoring, weathercasts, sportscasts and entertainment shows
depending on your area of specialization.
Our
only goal is to help each individual create a professional resume tape
that can help secure employment. This is done with a combination of
classroom, studio and field work. Those currently working on-air in the
television industry instruct your training.
Depending
on your specialization, (news, weather, sports and entertainment) you will be instructed
by those that carefully know what you need on your resume tape to help
secure future broadcast employment.
We
understand that choosing someone to create your resume tape is a big
investment in your future. Please look at our sample resume tapes. We
go to great lengths to create the best possible resume tape for our
clients. We use professional equipment, digital cameras and wireless
microphones. We change our studios and our backgrounds often to keep
our tapes looking fresh and new.
Clients
that participate arrive in Orlando, Florida for a resume tape session.
We are located in the heart of West Central Florida near all the major
attractions. Your recorded work is edited into a professional resume tape that
can be used to obtain work in the industry.
Your
resume tape is essential in finding a reporter job, anchor job,
weather job, entertainment job or sports job. Journalism is a
very competitive field. And getting that first TV job can be
tough.
But
broadcast journalism has always been difficult to get into unless your
understand the industry. There are hundreds of people with
demo tapes searching for the same jobs in journalism. Just
being a great journalist is not enough in finding media jobs.
You must have a great news resume tape or entertainment resume tape
depending on you area of specialization.
Remember,
the hiring source does not know you, they only know what they see on
the resume tape. Broadcast jobs in broadcast journalism
require a solid anchor resume tape, news tape, weather resume tape,
news resume tape, media resume tape, reporting resume tape, media
file or whatever you want to call a tape or DVD that represents your
on-air talents. It is very unlikely you will just be able to
"talk your way" into a real on-air position with out a resume tape.
And
you must think about your area of specialization. Reporter
jobs require a reporter resume tape. A sports job calls for a
sports resume tape. A weather job you need a weather resume
tape or a meteorologist resume tape. A on air anchor job
requires a anchor resume tape. And an entertainment job calls
for that special entertainment resume tape. So knowing what
you want to do for a career is just as important as the news tape
itself. Putting a "little bit of everything" on you demo tape
will actually hurt your chances of landing a job.
Not
everyone has the opportunity to go to a top journalism school or
broadcasting school in order to get on-air television job.
And attending elite broadcasting schools is no guarantee of a on-air
tv job. TV jobs require more than just "book smarts."
TV positions require the "hands on skills" to do it all. This
means knowing how to write, edit, shoot, report, produce in
television journalism. If you have these skills, and have a
great resume tape, journalism jobs and other related communications
jobs will be much easier to find.
